This is literally klicks & cuts and it started with the first locked grooves in 1979. Probably the earliest "clicks&cuts" as conceptual alternative to modular sequencing back in the 70th.
1995 it was presented to Force Inc / Mille Plateaux.
Later (1997) to Profan/ Kompakt who missed the "bassdrum".
Finally it was published on max.E. late 1999.
